Frequently Asked Questions
Do the Combat Replicators and Improved Combat Replicators abilities work when I'm defending?
No, both the second ability of Combat Replicators (removing Corruption) and Improved Combat Replicators (Bounty and retaining Installations) only work when you are the Invader, not when defending.
What's the difference between 'and' vs 'and/or' on House Focus card effects?
The green '+' symbol means 'and' (you must do both effects), while the green '+/' symbol means 'and/or' (you can choose to do one or both effects). For example, Kradmor Temptation uses 'and/or' while Shiveus Crusade uses 'and'.
Can I target sectors that don't meet the requirements when resolving Focus cards or Technologies?
No, you can only target valid sectors that meet all the specified requirements. For example, if an effect specifies 'adjacent Voidborn sector', the target must be both adjacent to the specified location AND be a Voidborn sector.
What happens to my Fleet Power when the Void advances and takes over my sectors?
When a sector becomes Voidborn due to Void advancement, any Fleet Power you had in that sector is lost. The sector is now controlled by the Void and may receive Voidborn Fleet Power according to the Crisis or Void advancement rules.
How does Astoran's House Ability affect my resource management?
Astoran gains 2 Fleet Power at the end of each Cycle, but your Upkeep cost is permanently increased by 2. This means you need to produce 2 additional resources each Cycle to avoid penalties, but you get consistent Fleet Power growth.
Can I use Bounty and Reclaim tokens from sectors I don't control?
Yes, Bounty and Reclaim tokens can typically be gained from any sector where you achieve the specified conditions (like winning Combat), regardless of who controls the sector. The tokens represent salvaged resources and battlefield spoils.
What's the difference between 'Pure' and 'Cannot be Corrupted' on sectors?
A 'Pure' sector currently has no Corruption but could potentially receive it later. A sector marked 'Cannot be Corrupted' is permanently immune to receiving Corruption tokens, regardless of game effects that would normally place Corruption.
