Can I use a Tool Card without drafting a die on my turn?
Yes, both actions (drafting a die and using a Tool Card) are optional and can be performed in any order. You can use a Tool Card without drafting, draft without using a Tool Card, do both, or pass your turn entirely.
What happens if I can't legally place any available dice from the Draft Pool?
You can choose to pass your turn and not draft a die. This is allowed even if there are dice available - you're not required to draft if you don't want to or can't place any dice legally.
Can I place a die diagonally adjacent to another die of the same color or value?
Yes, dice can be diagonally adjacent if they have the same color or value. The restriction only applies to orthogonally adjacent dice (directly side-by-side horizontally or vertically).
If I use Grozing Pliers to change a die's value, can I change a 1 to a 6 or a 6 to a 1?
No, you cannot change a 1 to a 6 or a 6 to a 1 with Grozing Pliers. The tool only allows you to increase or decrease by 1, so 1s can only become 2s and 6s can only become 5s.
Do row and column objectives score points for partial rows/columns?
No, row and column-based Public Objectives only score points for completed rows or columns with no open spaces. Partially filled rows or columns give you zero points for those objectives.
Can I place my first die anywhere on the window border, including spaces that don't match the die?
No, your first die must be placed on an edge or corner space AND must still obey color/value restrictions. If the border space shows a specific color or number, your first die must match that restriction.
When using Tool Cards that move dice, do the moved dice need to follow adjacency rules?
Yes, unless specifically stated otherwise (like Eglomise Brush ignoring color restrictions), moved dice must follow all normal placement restrictions including adjacency to other dice and no orthogonal matching of color or value.
