Frequently Asked Questions
Can I complete my objective and still lose the game?
Yes, completing an objective only makes you eligible to win. You must also survive and return to Earth in one piece. If you die or get left behind on the ship, you lose regardless of objective completion.
What happens if I'm in combat when the ship reaches Earth?
You're left behind and lose the game. Being in combat prevents you from escaping, even if you've completed your objective. You need to be free from combat and in an Escape Pod to win.
Do Contamination cards count as part of my hand limit?
No, Contamination cards are kept separate from your regular hand and don't count toward hand limits. They form their own pile and have their own specific rules for removal.
Can I attack other players directly?
No, you cannot directly attack other characters. However, your actions can indirectly harm them - such as making noise that attracts Intruders to their location, sabotaging ship systems, or completing objectives that conflict with theirs.
What's the difference between 'In Combat Only' and 'Out of Combat Only' action restrictions?
Some actions can only be performed while engaged with an Intruder (In Combat Only), while others require you to be free from any Intruder encounters (Out of Combat Only). Check your action cards carefully as this restriction determines when you can play them.
If an Intruder retreats during combat, am I still considered 'in combat'?
No, once an Intruder retreats, you are no longer in combat. This means you can immediately perform 'Out of Combat Only' actions and are eligible to escape if the ship reaches Earth.
Can I look at my Objective cards during the game?
Yes, you can look at your own Objective cards at any time during the game. However, you should keep them hidden from other players as they may conflict with others' goals.
What happens to items in a room when it gets damaged or malfunctions?
Items remain in damaged rooms and can still be searched for, but malfunctioning rooms may have additional restrictions or dangers. The room's condition doesn't automatically destroy items already placed there.
